Siddhartha Foundation

Siddhartha Academy of General & Technical Education which has been running 18 educational
institutions started Siddhartha Foundation to serve as its philanthropic wing. Established in the
year 1997, today this institution is functioning with a corpus fund of Rs.5.30 crores and a memb-
ership strength of 345 members and 57 chief donors. The interest accruing on the corpus fund
has been utilized to give financial assistance by way of scholarships to the meritorious students
belonging to the economically weaker sections of the society studying at all levels right from the
School level to the level of Universities.

Scholarship

Based on categorical recommendation of the members, these scholarships are given to deserving students hailing from our State for pursuing higher studies anywhere within the country without any gender or racial or religious discrimination inviting applications every year through an advertisement in news papers immediately on commencement of the academic year. Till date, the scholarships given by the Siddhartha Foundation have benefited close to 12,000 students and an amount to the tune of Rs.3.50 crores.

Social Service

By way of contributions to the Prime Minister's and Chief Minister's relief funds in the events of natural disasters and towards programmes undertaken by various service organisations for social welfare causes, along with regular scholarships, the foundation has widened its scope of social service. So far, these contributions towards various social welfare causes have reached up to Rs.20.92 lakhs.

For the academic year 2015-2016 Rs.37,50,000/- were granted and disbursed to 650 students studying right from the school level to university level, comprising students studying in Schools, Intermediate & Degree Colleges, Polytechnic, Engineering, Medicine, Pharmacy, Dental, CA, Law, B.Ed. etc courses.
